About us

Made for snack-curious travellers

A community guide to the snacks worth trying, wherever you are in the world.

How munchcrunch started

Whenever I travel, I go looking for snacks I've never tried before. But there are always far more on the shelves than I could ever eat, so I want to pick the ones other people actually recommend — and especially the ones with flavours you can only get in that region.

I couldn't find a database or website that did this. So I built munchcrunch: a place to discover local snacks country by country, see what the community rates highly, and spot the region-exclusive flavours before you leave.

What we're building

  • Local first

We focus on snacks that are made for, and loved in, their home country — including region-exclusive flavours you won't find back home.

  • Recommended by people

Ratings and reviews come from real snack hunters, so you can spend your suitcase space on the ones worth trying.

  • Moderated

Every new snack, correction, price and photo is checked by a moderator before it goes live.

  • Open data

Product details and photos build on Open Food Facts, the free food database, credited on every snack page.

So far: 467 snacks from 17 countries — and growing with every contribution.
